While I’m not a total coach potato and I do enjoy some forms of exercise, few things in this world can make me run. Let’s see: zombies, country music, oh, and Broadway musicals. Of course, I’d be running away from those things. Now, if we’re talking wine and food, I could totally be up for running toward that. And this weekend, you can too. There’s still time to register for the Culinaria 5K Wine and Beer Run!
What is Culinaria?
Culinaria is an independent, not-for-profit organization committed to promoting San Antonio as a premier wine and food destination while fostering community growth and enrichment and supporting local students in culinary arts and education via its capital campaign to raise funds for The Culinaria Urban Farm.
This weekend’s foodie 5K takes runners on a scenic trip with a new route around The Shops at La Cantera. When you reach the end, celebrate your fine fitness accomplishment with wine, beer, activities, and delicious food that’s totally worth running toward. Heck, if all exercise ended with a big wine and beer celebration, chances are I’d be at the gym every single day.
Culinaria’s 5K is just the first of many events held throughout the year that bring a wide variety of cuisine, educational sessions, and dining experiences to San Antonio.
This May, Culinaria’s Festival Week offers dinners, luncheons, chef meet ups, educational seminars, wine tastings, brunch, BBQ, beer, and more. And you can win tickets from San Antonio Mom Blogs to attend one of the most popular nights: The Food Truck event on May 15!
Come out and enjoy the family friendly Food Truck Event presented by H-E-B. San Antonio’s favorite food trucks will be cooking up two of their most popular dishes for you to devour – which means you have many options – and should probably bring a friend or five to divide and conquer! With all of that tasty food, you’ll want to quench your thirst… and the H-E-B Wine Garden and selections of beer, will do the trick.
The winner will receive two tickets that cover their admission to the event and all beverages (yes, even adult beverages!). Food from the trucks is sold separately. Participating vendors this year include:
